For the Girls Who Loved Lisa Frank and Had to Grow Up

I have said many, many times that Fashion for Lunch is one of my favorite bloggers, if not my total favorite outright. I love her pop-art accessories and her embrace of all things colorful.

Growing up, there were literally rainbows going around my room. They were the first thing I saw in the morning when I woke up and one of the last things I saw before bed. I was “living colorfully” long before that became a cute hashtag on instagram. I’ve never been one to shy away from color, and while picking out accessories for back to school, I always had a different Lisa Frank folder for every subject, if I had a choice. It turns out, Lisa Frank (the person, and the company) has a bit of a sinister history, which almost makes me like it more. While I am a little too grown to be repping cats eating psychedelic ice cream or whatever, there is a way to incorporate those colors into your adult life. Using a blank canvas like an LBD or a simple t and jeans, it’s so easy and fun to add colorful pieces that really stand out. Or just dress head to toe in Betsey. That works too.
